CAPTAIN’S v PRESIDENT’S DAY & STRAWBERRY TEA
Saturday 8th July was a lovely hot summers afternoon for our annual Fund Raising day for a charity chosen by our President Bob Gammie. This year the charity was Age UK. The day starts off with ‘The Spider’  where the jack is placed in the middle of the green, members stand with one foot in the ditch and at a signal all bowl together to see who can get nearest to the jack, it was won this year by John Goodhew, just luck as the bowls fly anywhere, well done to him.                       John receiving his prize from Julia Gammie >>
Who won, where is my bowl? I think someone is cheating, get the umpire. Absolute chaos!

All concentrating on the mat
THE TROPHY is a piece of the original carpet we played on when the Club started in 1996.  There were no winners this year as it was a DRAW, shared between Rita for the Captain’s and Ron for the President’s, a first! 126 points each.
After the bowling about 60 members and friends sat down to a lovely Strawberry Tea laid on by some of the Committee with scones, jam, cream and strawberries, with wine to finish, supplied by an anonymous donor, thanks to him. A lovely way to end a very enjoyable day.
A big ‘THANK YOU’ to all who helped in anyway to make the day a big success. Well done. Now looking forward to next year!
